Do you feel isolated? Do you yearn to be with someone who can connect with and share your experiences with?

There are times in life when such moments come. This is when you feel lonely and alone, excluded, lonely and left out. The truth is that the feeling of isolation can come even when you are in a group of other people because you simply do not connect or you feel as if they do not understand your situation.
God’s Desire
The Lord Almighty is a God of relationship and community. He desires to have a relationship with every human being that he created in his image. In Genesis 2:18 He says “It is not good for man(Adam) to be alone….” He looked at Adam’s loneliness and he was concerned and decided to create Eve to be his helper. He knew you before you were conceived in your mother’s womb and he had a purpose for your life. Just like Adam, it is not his wish that you be lonely. He desires that you connect with Him and should not have the feeling of isolation and loneliness.
Scriptures in the Bible
The Bible has several verses that show that God desires that his beings connect well amongst themselves and also with Him. In Psalm 133, David writes about how good it is when the people of God live in harmony. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells his disciples that “where two or more are gathered in My name, there I am with them”.
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14 | NIV
It is therefore scriptural to desire to be part of a community of believers. We see that this is the desire of God and there are several other verses such as Ecc 4:7 that emphasize on God’s desire for our lives.
God is your comforter. In Psalm 23:4 David writes that he has nothing to fear since God is with him. This scripture reminds us that God cares and he is with you even in the times when you feel isolated. He is still on the Throne and cares for you as He has always done. In 1 Peter 5:7 the Bible reminds us to cast our anxiety on him because he cares for our welfare. The anxiety mentioned here could be the isolation you are feeling right now which the Lord reminds you of how much he cares.
God is the father to the fatherless, a defender of widows. That is what the scripture says in Psalm 68:5-6. He is reminding you that you are not alone in isolation as He is with you as a father. Our earthly fathers provide us with protection, love and communion. God is your father and he is providing even more than your earthly father can provide while he is on the throne in heaven.
God desires that you relate well with him and with other believers. A feeling of isolation is an attack by the agents of evil to separate you from the Love of Christ. If you turn to Him, read his word and pray He will give you relief and remind you of His love for you. He has great plans for your life. He has let out his spirit to walk with you to navigate through the turbulent times of loneliness so turn to him for comfort. He is the great comforter.
